Just to pile on the mountain of derision this post has created. Uuid doesn't have GitHub stars. Uuid is a standard for generating universal identifiers, as in forever unique, very low risk of colisions. Nanoid has no such claims, it just wants sufficient uniqueness and hopes it's speed can make up for that.
But in the use cases of uuid v4, universal unique IDs, nanoid isn't a competitor.
