On one hand, I like hackerrank tests. I’m nnot fond of them at interviews but it largely depends on how they’re used.
Then there are experiences like a recent one with Zalando where I got 3 problems. On one of them I scored a big fat 0. For anyone familiar with the interview test mode, there are no details. They asked me what happened on that test. I said I didn’t know because my solution worked. Why would it ever get a 0? Another one I submitted wasn’t a very good solution and it got a 67%, but 0? I asked them for details or whether they would want to review my solution in a discussion. They said their interview policy prevents re-reviews or discussion details.
