So, there can be no middle ground between jungle law capitalism and Marx? Or at least capitalism with more provisions aiming at some sort of social justice? Socialism isn’t a softer communism. The core difference is that socialism puts society closer to the top of priorities (whatever that means in practice depends on that society) while communism aims to socialize property. Sure, it’s overly simplified, but the idea is thst there’s enough room to conceive a completely new system.

The fact that right now there’s no perfect alternative doesn’t mean we should stop trying to find one and accept the stuff that has worked until now as a gold standard to preserve. This mentality hampers evolution altogether.
