well, if you feel that what you are doing is important (and being important is part of what drives you to do what you do everyday) then it’s fine.

Though I suspect another part of what makes you happy is to shove into everyone’s face that you think they are miserable (mostly because they are on a salary).

Well, I work on a salary but at the same time I choose the exact things I do, my daily hours, the exact projects I get involved with and for how long (mostly).

I know what I do isn’t important in the grand scheme of things, but I like it and I know my day would go about the same whether it’s a salary or not (actually I was incorporated as a consultant not long ago – had to work more, about the same things but less family time overall)
