What I take from this:
- The actual meaning or origin of a phrase doesn’t matter: if someone at any given point in time was offended by it, it should be removed from vocabulary
- Any reference to color is racist (sure, the fact that associating black and black clothes in particular, to death predate any racial issues doesn’t matter – maybe we should also stop wearing black at funerals and so on while we’re at it). That is, any color reference is racist as long as the color is black. Derogatory uses of ‘yellow’ or ‘red’ don’t come into play.
- For some reason Trump gets to dictate vocabulary. Is that an actual presidential power? Maybe he should just take turns with every word and force us to come up with a new language altogether.
